Springmoor is a nationally accredited full service life care retirement community located in a beautifully developed area in Northwest Raleigh. Springmoor is designed to emphasize independent living, dignity, security, and peace of mind. There is a wide range of residences, services, amenities and comprehensive health care.

The Activity Center has social and recreational facilities and many services for your daily convenience. The Dining Centers provide nutritionally balanced meals, served in a setting for relaxed dining.

The on-site Stewart Health Center provides medical, nursing, and personal care on a short-term or continuing basis. The Health Center also provides outpatient health care to residents. Stewart Health Center has a specially designed and staffed wing for residents who have Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.

Community

Springmoor offers one of the finest communities for retirement living. Including nine living accommodations from an Alcove apartment to a two bedroom Deluxe house.

Springmoor's campus also offers an amazing collection of wonderful facilities for residences to use. The facilities range from the nicely decorated dining room to a green house and garden plots. They include: Dining Room, Exercise Room, Green House, Garden Plots, Billiards Rooms, Parlors, Music Room, Greenways, Putting Greens, Library, Onsite Banking, Beauty Salon, Barber Shop, Convenience Store, Chapel, Golfing Privileges at a local professional course, along with many other amenities that are worth making a visit to see.

Mission Statement

Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community is a non-profit organization established to provide full life care for residents who are usually 62+ years of age. The organization subscribes to the following purposes:

  • To promote the social, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and physical well-being of each resident; To provide quality housing, amenities, medical and health care, physical security, activity and enrichment programs, food service and support services;
  • To provide facilities, staff, policies and procedures that are sensitive and responsive to the day-to- day and changing health and personal needs of each resident;
  • To provide an honest, forthright environment of positive thinking which promotes for each resident dignity, peace of mind, confidence and the pursuit of an active lifestyle;
  • To operate and manage the facility so it is cost-effective and efficient, yet sensitive and personal in relating to resident needs;
  • To strive to meet its mission with such commitment to excellence that Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community continues to be one of the premier retirement communities in this region of the nation.

History of Development

The Springmoor Board of Directors in conjunction with Mr. Justus M. (Jud) Ammons, a leading Raleigh developer and civic leader, developed Springmoor. Located in Greystone Village, Springmoor is one of many large communities that Mr. Ammons has developed in Raleigh and other parts of North Carolina with pride and success. In planning Springmoor, Mr. Ammons enlisted the guidance of consultants and community leaders and personally studied the needs of senior citizens. His deep interest in senior citizens and his personal and financial commitment have resulted in Springmoor becoming one of the nation's foremost life care retirement communities.

The Board of Directors assures that the policies and practices of Springmoor offer excellence and reliability. The Springmoor management staff is highly competent in their respective fields and has a special and caring interest in senior citizens.

Location

In Raleigh - a charming place to live with gently changing seasons. Business, recreational, and cultural opportunities have made Raleigh one of the fastest growing retirement areas in the United States. Lovely mountains, beautiful beaches, and wildlife preserves are only a few hours away.

Some of the nation’s finest and most advanced medical care facilities are within easy reach in Durham and Chapel Hill. Duke University Medical Center has one of the nation’s finest geriatric clinics. Springmoor is within minutes of local hospitals, churches, cultural centers, shopping, golf, recreation, and regional shopping malls. There are museums, libraries, continuing education centers, concerts, lectures, sports, and numerous other activities and places of interest.

Springmoor is a part of Greystone Village, an exciting and progressive planned community in Northwest Raleigh. Springmoor occupies 42 beautifully wooded acres where buildings, streets, and walking trails are situated and landscaped to take full advantage of the area’s beauty and privacy. Residents may also use 75 acres of beautiful greenways, four lakes, picnic areas, and other recreational facilities in Greystone Village. Stonehenge Shopping center is within walking distance via safe and convenient walkways. Crabtree Valley regional shopping center is less than three miles away.

Facilities

Springmoor offers a variety of one-level residences designed for safety, convenience, and comfort.

Clusters of homes and villas are designed for an independent lifestyle with access to Springmoor services and health care. Each has a beautiful kitchen, washer and dryer, private patio, deck or screened porch, and many luxury features.

Apartments are also designed for an independent lifestyle. They range in size from well-designed alcove residences to deluxe two-bedroom residences. Each apartment has many luxury features. Washers and dryers are conveniently located on each floor.

The Supportive Living Center is designed for residents who are able to live independently with intermittent staff assistance. Apartments range in size from well-designed efficiency apartments to one-bedroom apartments. There are also delightful common areas and a dining room for the use of all residents.A nurse or nursing assistant is on duty at all times to assist Supportive Living Center residents.

All residences have wall-to-wall carpet, drapes, and major appliances. Every residence is equipped with an emergency call system and a central smoke and fire system. Interior corridors connect the East and West Apartments, the Supportive Living Center, the Activity Center, the Dining Center, and the Stewart Health Center to form the Central Complex of Springmoor. Interior corridors connect the Creedmoor Apartment building and the Valley Apartment building in South Village.

General Requirements

Age:
Springmoor's fees are based on a minimum of age sixty-two. Fee adjustments may be made in special circumstances.

Financial Status:
A confidential financial statement is required. Verification of financial status by bank, trust officer, etc. may be required.

Personal Background:
Applicant must provide personal background statement.

Health Status:
Applicant must be in reasonably good health, mentally alert, mobile and able to take care of himself/herself at the time of residence. Physical examination is required. Springmoor may accept a spouse or sibling directly into Stewart Health Center for inpatient care when the other applicant is to reside in an independent residential unit.

Insurance:
Applicant must have Medicare Parts A & B, a Medicare supplement that covers as a minimum Part A and Part B deductibles and twenty percent of the Medicare approved rate for each date of service, or equivalent insurance coverage.

Power Of Attorney:
Each resident is required to designate the person or institution of choice as power of attorney to act in behalf of the resident if he/she is unable to do so. The power of attorney must sign the Residence and Care Agreement as Guarantor to ensure payment of monthly fees from the resident's resources in the event that the resident is unable to do so.
